The Lunar Lowdown – a few notes

While not a transcript of our current video by any means,
I’ve included the notes below if you’d prefer to read or for referencing the information later!

Sun’s position:           25 degrees Scorpio (The Scorpion Eagle)
Moon’s position:        25 degrees Taurus  (The Bull)
Bonus Planets:          Neptune at 21 d Aquarius / Saturn 24d, Venus 25d, Pluto 27d Sagittarius

This Full Moon Lunar Lowdown is best experienced as a “working” ~ a  simple meditation ~ in service to the energies now. This working is featured in the video: You can find it specifically from 1:00 – 6:15  ~ with an additional wonderfully concise 20 second “recap” from 7:40 to 8:00.

Much of the information below was NOT included in the video, to support a shift from talking about the Stars into actually doing what the Stars suggest!  It is included below, for your deeper edification, if that is desirable and interesting!

As the Full Moon rises and the Sun sets, I feel the exact opposition between them, which of course exist between every Full Moon but here I am reminded (by the Stars) of the Arrow of Sagittarius who’s symbol mimics this alignment of opposition. Sagittarius is where the two heavy hitters of Pluto and Saturn come together physically now. [Western Tropical astrology calls this area of the sky ‘Capricorn’ but it is the STARS of Sagittarius, nonetheless.]

Nestled within Pluto and Saturn for this moon is Venus, bringing us the connection to Cupid and his arrow. Also the symbol of Sagittarius has a straight line across it indicative of the bow; this Full Moon is square to Neptune. We can understand Neptune as our dreams, our intuition, our spiritual pursuits or our dissociative pursuits!  We can understand [Venus as what we love, what we desire, and our “like hearted” groups – our tribe. 

With all of this in the mix, I can feel that it is so important to get our Neptunian and Venusian energies within OUR own “control” or said another way, within our conscious choice! Rather than letting it be up for grabs by the attention grabbing systems within which we willingly participate!

We are at a threshold. The threshold of illumination. Pluto and Saturn absolutely are involved with the question of the right use of power, of the right use of resources. We absolutely see this being played out in our national news, and globally. And while I’m sure many use astrology to understand the larger events around them the Lunar Lowdown has always been centered upon you as an individual within the context of these energies. In other words what does it mean to you and your life personally.

As I return to that imagery of the Moon rising I feel the arrow piercing through my being, out the other side and connecting to the Sun. I feel the unity that is Sun and Moon while simultaneously witnessing their separation into two beings. I feel them locked into one another as one unit, unified through me, the human being who carries both shadow and light. I feel the hinge point upon Neptune, the sacred imagination and I’m shown again how critical it is that we consciously choose how we engage our visioning abilities, our imagination, our dreaming. In other words our entertainment etc.

We are called upon to dream the new dream into being. We are called upon to inhabit the new story of the future. This requires birthing it from inside of ourselves rather than passively receiving it from the outside entertainment industry…receiving it from the outside from corporate industry that literally harvests and profits from our fear, anxiety and nervousness. We have a responsibility to envision the wholeness that is larger than the sum of its parts.

This is not fantasy or fantasizing though it sounds like it. It is instead: stillness, connection down into the earth, a weaving out into the stars… while surrounded on the horizontal plane by the living world of nature. We engage meditatively with what is working. We sense, see and feel the cycle of rain falling to the earth absorbed by the ground, and evaporating up into the sky to dwell in the mists and clouds before returning to shower down upon the earth again… for example.

We feel the autumnal leaves upon the forest floor being broken down by small critters and taken up into mushrooms, in the roots of small plants and trees; another example.

We witness in our imagination the healthy schools of fish moving through the waters through the great oceans watching them rise towards the light and moving away from the surface as the sun sets, in great cycles of daily migration.

These are all given by way of example but you can imagine almost any natural phenomena that you chose, in contrast to allowing the speculation and the graphic imagery of disasters (called “news”) to become the only imagery that you dwell upon now.

We are just beginning to hit the peak of this profound Pluto Saturn conjunction, exact on Sunday Jan 12th.  And this Moon within it dwells upon the threshold of Scorpio and Taurus: the energies of death and life, destruction and regeneration. We participate in these larger cycles as the Sacred Human being, the through point, the crossroads between heaven and earth. Our sacred imagination is a potent ally for the cosmos.

In essence – respiration: inhale and exhale. Circulation. We participate by dreaming the dream of the future. We participate through being a node upon the web of life that is active and generative.
