Currents of the Cosmos ~ Feb 23rd New Moon

The Lunar Lowdown – a few notes

While not a transcript of our current video by any means,
I’ve included the notes below if you’d prefer to read or for referencing the information later!

Actual Time of Celestial Event: Sunday February 23rd, 2020 @ 8:31 am MST
Sun’s position:           9 degrees Aquarius (The WaterHuman)
Moon’s position:        9 degrees Aquarius (The WaterHuman)

…I step into my place of consciousness and I see yellow butterflies- a symbol of regeneration and rebirth and again the color of light. I am dressed in light and I proceed down the stairs into this place of consciousness. Reflections, mirrors, the marrying of opposites. The day forces and the night forces and the weaving between them. Bright light that cast shadows.

As usual the imagery has come so quickly: I saw myself as radiant light, the mind supplying ‘this is not sustainable’ and then the sun sets and the night comes alive and vice versa. From here came imagery of sitting by a stream and seeing the liquid silver surface of the stream reflecting the sky and myself in reverse. The symmetry of that.

In the recounting of this I also sense the liquid quicksilver of the stream that is Mercury’s other name.

The Sun and Moon meet briefly on February 23rd and then the Moon passes through retrograde Mercury in the hours that follow.[8:30 pm MST] Then the Sun itself moves through Mercury’s sphere 2 days later on the 25th.

Which gives this moon cycle a bit of a funhouse mirror feeling… In other words the classic mercury retrograde moment of taking care to not to get ahead of yourself [assumptions, auto-pilot, checked out] but instead checking your math, doing a double take seeing the same things but in reverse. and by “things” I mean all in your life that you take for granted as being understood.

I reconnect and come to the conscious awareness of the realm of the angels: Aquarius. This curious realm of karma,  consequences, entanglements, and lessons.

This winter, Saturn and Pluto have broken down our assumptions, our beliefs, perhaps even our sense of understanding the world within which we live.

(This reminds me of the moon cycle in which the abyss and Pluto were pointed out in the Tree of Life and this reminds me of the Hanged Man.)

We go deeper down and deeper still, while we simultaneously begin to ride to the surface. We ride upon the currents of the cosmos.

What comes to me again is the truth of Participation and the modern misunderstanding of the ancient traditions of keeping the commemoration of these cosmic turnings. I’m reminded of the modern intellectual scoffing at the ancestors who would drum up the Sun come Spring equinox (still some weeks away.) Scoffing that “how could these people think that the sun would not rise unless they drummed it awake?”

This is a confused thinking that the Hanged Man helps us clear away. The ancients / the ancestors lived in their bones their duty to mark these occasions by gathering, with ceremony, with ritual not as cause and effect but more as call and response!

Like mirror and reflection, like day and night – like any two things that are actually one.

and can I also point out, they did not “think” this or “understand” this because it was beyond those concepts as simply self evident.

This moon asks nothing more of you than to keep those traditions that are your duty, that are woven into your bones. Call and response, sound and echo. We ride upon the currents of the cosmos.

Why? Because this is the moon of Aquarius, of the Angels, of karma and consequence, of evolution and growth. And in this realm, this earth realm of material reality, birthing emerges from the interaction of energies.

Show up for the invisible ones, show up for the cycles that you are drawn to, that you tend, that you pay attention to. The human race is participating consciously or unconsciously. Let us participate mindfully. Let us hear the song of spirit and sing back… in harmony, in reflection, in grace, power, beauty, glory as we leap across the abyss.

Aho.
