Stillness of Scorpio ~ Full Moon of Nov 30th
The Lunar Lowdown – a few notes
While not a transcript of our current video by any means,
I’ve included the notes below if you’d prefer to read or for referencing the information later!
Actual Time of Celestial Event: Monday November 30th, 2020 @ 2:30 am MST
Sun’s position: 14 degrees Scorpio (The Scorpion)
Moon’s position: 14 degrees Taurus (The Bull)
When I seek our information, I arrive deep beneath the earth, next to the warmth of the earth light. Primarily that which comes is stillness, quiet and rest… sleep. Hibernation. Here we are renewed.
Sleep is a very funny thing. We may accidentally think of it is a time when we are doing nothing but actually our bodies are incredibly busy restoring us. So that when we arise in our awakened consciousness we are revitalized and able to meet our lives with renewed vigor and attention. It is a well studied and established fact that modern Americans are under slept, sleep deprived. Consider that for even longer it has been well known as an effective torture technique, to deprive someone of sleep….
Here deep in the earth, I become aware of the processes around me; the bubbling metabolizing transformative events happening in the soil around me, not just close to me… but all through the earth.
From this place of deep slumber and renewal, I ask for the stars Scorpio and Taurus to guide us in what we need to know now at this Full Moon at the Heart of the Scorpion (Antares at 15 scorpio) and the Eye of the Bull (Aldebaran at 15 taurus) …I feel overwhelmed with a sense of nurturing.. a sense… maybe even a demand that you do not overdo. That you find stillness and you pause in the light of the Full Moon to look out upon the land where you live, long enough to tune into the natural quiet, the drawing in and down of life force. This is the opposite energy that leaps forth from the end of sticks as leaves and blooming flowers that emerge in springtime. This is now the inhale with goes with that exhale.
And when I was still, really still – to ask the stars for what they want you to hear…
Be reborn anew, unto thyself
Though the simple process of not trying so hard. Of not doing so much. Of not striving so far.
Rest into this gift to un-be, to unburden, to let go all the identities even for just several minutes… dropping the masks and the veils that hide you from your self.
Can you track your impatience, your wiggliness if you struggle to sit still to attune to this?
Scorpio teaches us that without veils, we are quick to grow, quick to evolve, to deepen our understanding of our self, our destiny and the world around us. This Moon can you drop the masks, the veils that separate you from yourself?
This kind of self honesty and vulnerability can be challenging – we may shy away from it, but the bright light of Taurus that seeks to illuminate what lies beneath is a kind, loving, and life-affirming light. What treasures and surprises might greet you, if you get really still?
My teachers Anastasia Nutt and RJ Stewart have taught me so much about stillness and about the opportunity we have to un-be. Our culture with its generally established belief that we each live only once and then end up in either heaven or hell – or nowhere (!) plants within us a subconscious seed of annihilation that can persuade us to cling to our identities… but let the land around you be your teacher… as each winter it pulls inwardly in the appearance of “nothing” only to reemerge in spring in rich bloom.
This Full Moon is poised with the Sun in Scorpio and the Moon in Taurus… we are poised between these energies of death and life, true every day and heightened by this astrology.
Fundamentally this Full Moon illuminates some of the deepest mysteries that we face as humans on earth: that of life and death. Here swimming within Scorpio’s & Taurus’ tides, we discover that while the rational and the linear have their place, they lose their authority in the death processes, in the birth processes as anyone of you who has been witness to either of these events firsthand knows.
Be reborn anew, unto thyself
