The Lunar Lowdown – a few notes

While not a transcript of our current video by any means,
I’ve included the notes below if you’d prefer to read or for referencing the information later!

Sun’s position:           21 degrees Cancer (The Crab)
Moon’s position:        21 degrees Cancer (The Crab)
Bonus planet:            Saturn 15d Capricorn

When I dropped into meditation to ask for what is wanted to be known for this New Moon cycle, I was greeted and drawn into the primal Life Force that lives behind all things… I was “subsumed” by it, shown that this is where we physically ARE in the Northern hemisphere… we are at and just past the peak of growth.

This New Moon, the Sun and Moon in Cancer are opposite Saturn: a planet of boundaries and limits.  The astrology is mirroring what we know to be true: even as we reach our peak, our fullness, ripeness… nothing lasts forever in the material existence. Life force rises up, ripens and peaks… and then drops away…

Yet within this sober truth, we are within the light of Cancer ~ a constellation of relationships, intimacy and HOME ~ the places and people with whom we feel safe and supported…centered and True.

This cycle, the Stars ask us to take responsibility to understand who and what gives us this feeling… finding who and what nurtures and supports us, including ourselves! Including how WE tend to our own well being.

When I drop into the heart of Cancer there is safety, sanctuary, nurturance and revitalization. We must take responsibility to find these things within ourselves and to recognize the habits and beliefs that drive us unnecessarily into states of depletion like social media, doom scrolling, tracking the news, toxic relationships, loose boundaries, unhealthy choices of food or environments, communities…

Sure, some of these habits are a way to make ourselves feel better in the short term but with Cancer, we can choose to enter into the cave of well-being that dwells within us… lit by the warm fire of your flame of being … and by that light, see these habits for what they are and find the strength and resolve to eliminate them or at the least curtail them.

Cancer and this New Moon here can strengthen and reveal our own inner powers… our own self reliance and healthy confidence in the self. Because the limits are here, the limits are arriving and we do and will have need of one another… in our Wholeness.

In essence, this moon asks you : how nurtured, at home, and safe are you willing to feel? what nurturing kind activities will you engage in, if you knew you don’t have all the time in the world? 

This is not an ominous warning but an honest reflection of the ups and downs that life brings, an honest reflection of the state of our world’s condition.

Just as is time to “put up and preserve” the abundance of the garden, it is time to put up and preserve the wisdom of what nurtures our inner flame, the wisdom of who we can count on and who can count on us.
